More than 7 out of 10 workers paid low wages in Health Care and Social Assistance and Educational Services are women

Table shows among the workers paid less than $19.69 in each industry, the share that are women or men. The first row in the table, "Share of low-wage workforce," shows the gender make-up of the total low-wage workforce. By comparing this row to the other rows, the user can identify if men or women are overrepresented in particular industries. For example, among workers paid low wages in Health Care and Social Assistance, 77.8% are women while women make up 52.3% of the total low-wage workforce.
