Going test blind enabled the UCs to admit far fewer private school students

Change in the admission rates of UC applicants from California public schools after the UCs went test blind, grouped by the type of school attended and difficulty of high school coursework

California high schools only. For each campus and honors group, the calculation is the average of the admission rates in each of the three years 2022-2024 divided by the average of the admission rates in each of the three years 2017-2019, minus one. The UCs went test blind in 2021 but 2020 and 2021 are ignored to avoid pandemic effects. Most numbers are negative because it's gotten harder for everyone to get admitted.
