Cryptocurrencies fall into a regulatory grey area, with different jurisdictions adopting varying stances on their legality, classification and taxation. Countries with official cryptocurrency bans include China, Qatar, and Bangladesh, while large swathes of the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) and Asia have implicit bans in place.
