School staffing characteristics, by number of physics teachers in the school
This analysis only covers secondary schools that submitted curriculum data in the 2023 SWC, which excludes around a third of schools (because of automated data gathering systems not aligning). The analysis also excludes schools that had missing qualification information about any science teacher, which reduced the sample by a further 513 schools. These omissions mean the sample may not be representative of all schools, and no further checks have been carried out into the sample's representativeness compared to all secondary schools. Science teaching hours includes general science, physics, chemistry and biology, for key stages 3-5.
