CO2 Emissions Intensity of Tennessee Valley Authority and Neighbors, June to Mid-July 2024

June and early July 2024 saw very high temperatures across the country. The Tennessee Valley Authority's electric balancing area generally had a lower CO2 emissions rate of consumed electricity than neighboring balancing authorities.

Only neighboring BAs with mean net interchange at least 1% of TVA demand are shown: 10% for MISO, 3% for SOCO, 2% for PJM, and 1% for LGEE. Gaps in MISO data due to faulty reporting.
