A decade of tree losses

In the late 1990s and 2000s, Chicago agencies planted more trees than they removed. But the opposite occurred in the past decade.

Figures for plantings/ removals by Bureau of Forestry, transportation department and other entities seeking permits. Figures do not include other plantings or removals, such as by landowners off city right-of-way.
