California doesn’t fund any foster care prevention programs designed for Black families
California only funds programs that prevent children from entering foster designated “well-supported by a federal clearinghouse. But just 10% of 210 programs reviewed meet that standard, and none are designed specifically for families of color, like cultural brokers.
This chart lists the number of prevention services rated by the Title IV-E Prevention Services Clearinghouse. Out of 210 programs reviewed, 95 have been rated. 20 were rated Well-supported, 29 are Supported and 46 are Promising.
