Figure 13. Distribution of the working population by type of occupation, population aged 25-59, 4Q24
Table with a heatmap showing the distribution of the working population by occupation among those aged 25 to 59 during the fourth quarter of 2024. More than a third of African workers (and more than half in the case of Sub-Saharan Africans) are concentrated in ‘elementary occupations’, a figure far higher than that for Latin American and Asian workers. Conversely, the proportion of Africans in ‘white-collar’ occupations such as ‘Directors and managers’, ‘Scientific and intellectual professionals and technicians’ and ‘Accountants and administrative staff’ is limited to 8%, clearly lagging behind the rest. Furthermore, the EPA does not identify any immigrants from Africa serving in the Armed Forces.
