California: Removed from Death Row in 2024
A federal court ordered DA Pamela Price to review 34 capital convictions in Alameda County based on evidence that prosecutors systematically struck Black and Jewish potential jurors. 18 of those people were resentenced in 2024.
DA Jeff Rosen moved to resentence 15 people facing execution in Santa Clara County, calling the death penalty "an antiquated, racially-biased system that deters nothing and costs us millions of public dollars and our integrity." Ten were resentenced in 2024.
Larry Roberts was exonerated in Solano County.
