Melanoma-related cancer deaths: 2013-2022

There were about 9,500 melanoma-related deaths in the U.S. 2013, according to data from the American Cancer Society. That number dropped to 7,650 in 2022. The decline is due in large part to advanced treatments that include immunotherapy drugs, which bolster the body’s ability to destroy cancer cells.
