In the aftermath of the pandemic, churches and salaries are experiencing a K-shaped recovery. Healthy churches gave an average raise of 4.82 and 4.5 percent to 46.1 percent of pastors and 32.4 percent of staff respectively. By comparison, struggling churches cut salaries by 10.48 and 11.44 percent for 2.4 percent of pastors and 0.4 percent of staff. When you combine increases, decreases, and non-changes all employees, the overall average change shrinks to 1.99 percent for pastors and 1.42 percent for staff.
