Mandatory government-paid parental leave

New shared parental leave
■ Paid by the government, capped at S$2,500 per week or S$10,000 per month
■ To be taken within 12 months of child's birth
■ By default, shared equally between parents. Parents can adjust the allocation within 4 weeks of their child’s birth. After that, such changes require employers’ agreement too.

New notice requirement
■ Employees must give at least 4 weeks’ notice when taking any government-paid parental leave
