UPMC rakes in rural payments

UPMC received nearly a quarter of federal funds intended for rural health care providers in Pennsylvania. Although UPMC has more rural hospitals than any other health system in the state, providers based in metro areas such as UPMC Presbyterian Shadyside also received millions in aid.

Note: Totals include payments to hospitals, physician groups, nursing homes and other entities in Pennsylvania.

Note: All payments may not be represented because some parent organizations do not always identify their subsidiaries.
