Even blue chip classics have gotten wild in 2021

We expect collectors to disagree on the value of emerging classics like 2nd Gen Dodge Vipers. Ford GTs, and Testarossas—and they sure do. Yet in the frenzied market of 2021, we've also seen wider gaps between higher (75th percentile) and lower (25th percentile) prices for established classics like the 300SL and Daytona. It's a sign that buyers are operating less on rationale and more on gotta-have-it-now instinct.

Dark lines represent 12-month moving-average sale price. Shaded areas are the range within which the middle 50 percent of sales fall.
