The Age Breakdown of America's Deadliest Driving Habits
Figures show total fatalities in crashes where a driver in that age group was flagged for speeding, drunk driving, or distraction. Age groups reflect the age of the flagged driver, not all people involved in the crash, and a crash with multiple flagged drivers of different ages can count toward more than one age group, so totals across behaviors overlap. Rankings referenced in the accompanying analysis are calculated per 100,000 U.S. residents in each age bracket.
