Most UMD RAs are Black women
41 percent of all RAs were Black in the 2022-23 while Black students made up just 13 percent of all undergraduates.
Black women are the majority demographic of university resident assistants. For the past two years, Black women made up most of the resident assistants at the University of Maryland.
