The 10 districts in red had the highest positive difference between their actual and projected proficiency rates.

Methodology: Predicted proficiency rates were calculated using a linear regression model that estimates the relationship between schools’ actual proficiency rates and their share of students eligible for free or reduced-price lunch. The model was used to generate an expected proficiency rate for each school based on the percentage of students eligible for free or reduced lunch this year.
