Lower Allen's Population Has Become Younger and More Affluent

The township's population grew about 12% from 2010 to 2020, and its ethnic demographics changed little. Still, a larger share of its residents now hold college degrees, and household incomes have risen. Those changes came with big increases in voter turnout.

*Income calculations carry a wide margin of error. These calculations are adjusted for inflation to reflect 2020 dollars.

Total population and race/ ethnicity numbers come from the 2010 and 2020 decennial censuses. Other figures come from the 2008-2012 and 2018-2022 5-year American Community Surveys.
