Glossary below provided by Nunavut's Department of Education

"Student incidents" are incidents involving behaviour by students (i.e. violent, physical assault, sexual incidents, harassment, etc.).

"Serious student incidents" are incidents involving a suspension of at least 4 days; where the incident was reported to the regional school operations; where the student was required to be seen by a medical practitioner or by mental health; where the Department of Family Services was notified; where the RCMP was notified; and/or by any criteria used by the Government of Nunavut identifying a serious incident.

"Violent or physical assaults" are incidents involving hands-on violent incidents (i.e., fighting, restraints, punching, etc.).

"Sexual incidents" are incidents that are serious in nature (i.e., hands-on sexual assaults or sexual touching).

"Harassment" are incidents that are less serious in nature, and could involve sexual harassment, physical harassment, etc., but are not counted as violent or physical assaults.
