Gaps in Health Insurance Coverage for the Most Populous States

In the past 12 months, were there any medical services, treatments, or prescription medications you needed but were not covered by your health insurance plan?

Data shown are based on 1,810 respondents who live in one of the 15 most populous states, had health insurance with prescription drug coverage, and who, within the previous month, either filled a prescription or had a prescription sent to a pharmacy that they did not ultimately fill. The 15 most populous states were determined based on 2020 Census data. The survey was run through YouGov from May 7, 2026, through July 21, 2026.
