Iowa's smallest farms declined as its largest farms grew

The Census of Agriculture shows Iowa's farm landscape continuing to shift toward larger operations. Between 2017 and 2022, the number of farms smaller than 10 acres fell by 20%, while the number of farms with 2,000 to 4, 999 acres grew by 23%.
