Ruby-throated hummingbirds spotted near airports

The ruby-throated hummingbird was one species that had a significant number of sightings near airports during the pandemic. Through volunteer-collected data, it was found that more hummingbird sightings could be expected as distance to airports within its flight path decreased.

Data collected via eBird and published in "Reduced human activity during COVID-19 alters avian land use across North America," Science Advances.
