Officer-involved shootings by Illinois State Police

Since 2015, Illinois State Police reported that troopers were involved in 15 fatal shootings. Until Jan. 4, 2026, all of those who were shot by troopers were men; 13 had guns. Seven were wanted by police for violent offenses, including murder.
