Takoma Park sees high turnout among registered 16- and 17-year-old voters in the 2020 election
69% of registered voters aged 16-17 voted in the 2020 election, a higher turnout percentage than any other age group in Takoma Park.
In the 2020 election, Takoma Park’s youngest eligible voters — 16- and 17- year olds — turned out at strikingly high rates, outperforming every other age group in the city. More than 65 percent of these teenagers cast ballots. By comparison, only about a third of voters aged 18 to 34 cast ballots.
