Gap between costs to operate a dairy farm and milk prices grows in past decade

The cost to operating a dairy farm in the U.S. has nearly doubled since 2014.

The costs are measured in dollars per hundredweight of milk and are estimates provided to the USDA from monthly and annual surveys.
