District of Innovation (DOI)

Certification types:

Uncertified: individual holding no certificate from the State Board for Educator Certification
Reenterer: Individuals previously employed as a teacher of record and had a break in teaching employment. Includes both individuals who changed roles within the public school system and those that left the system entirely.
Standard: individuals who have a certificate from a traditional or alternative certification program rather than an internship
Intern: Individuals who completed preparation coursework and are a teacher of record as part of their preparation
Out of State: individuals holding a certification or license from another state or country
Emergency: individuals granted a temporary permit issued by the SBEC. Permits are granted when a district is unable to fill a vacant teaching position with an individual holding sufficient teaching requirements.
