Illinois tax revenue rising even with COVID-19 downturn

Despite COVID-19 hitting the economy, Illinois pulled in $1.8 billion more from personal income taxes and a total of $2.3 billion more from all tax streams for the first eight months of this fiscal year compared to a year earlier. Comparisons are of eight months through February of each fiscal year, which begins in July.
