Per-student funding has remained mostly flat when adjusted for inflation

Mike Morath says state funding of public education has "significantly" increased for most of the last decade. The unadjusted figure he cites includes local and federal funding sources, as well as money not directly supporting students. In addition to inflation, underfunded mandates from the Texas Legislature have also driven up schooling costs.
