Texas faces rising energy demand in cold weather
Electricity demand forecasts from the Electric Reliability Council of Texas during the February 2021 cold wave were markedly higher than what the grid operator would have expected based on 2002-2006 usage. This increase in demand reflects rising use of electricity in Texas for residential heating.
