Police Vehicle Stops in Philadelphia Grow Sharply in 2019

Philadelphia Police stopped about 10,000 more drivers each month this year compared to recent years -- an increase that mostly affected black drivers. Though 44% of Philadelphians are black, black drivers accounted for 75% of vehicle stops in 2019.
