Big donations help new candidate keep pace in primary fundraising

Both candidates in the Republican primary for state Senate District 3 in East Texas brought in more than $2 million. While prominent PACs and individuals backed Trent Ashby, most of Rhonda Ward's funds came in a series of large contributions from Jim Moyer.
