Fewer young women report attraction only to men

For young women, the shift was not mainly from attraction exclusively to men to attraction exclusively to women. Instead, their responses spread across the scale. The share reporting attraction only to men fell from about 78% in 2011 to 51% in 2026.

Sexual attraction was rated on a scale from attraction only to men to attraction only to women. Based on responses from more than 6,000 female undergraduates at a New York state public university, 2011–2026; no survey was fielded in 2013. Findings are from a study now under review.
