Taking into account that D.C. and the Census Bureau define race and ethnicity differently, we paired the rate of Black residents who died of Covid-19 with the American Community Survey count of Washingtonians who are Black and not Hispanic or Latino. Similarly, the rate of white residents who died of Covid is paired with the ACS count of white, non-Hispanic/Latino residents.
