General Motors' sales in growing emerging markets saw a steep rise demand for Baojun (which means "Treasured Horse" in Mandarin), the brand created in 2010 under GM's trilateral joint venture with SAIC, China's largest automaker, and Wuling Motors. Baojun sedans and mininvans are lower-priced alternatives in China to Buicks and Chevrolets.
