Initial unemployment claims submitted versus claims continued from previous week in Mississippi 1987-July 11, 2020

Since COVID-19 hit Mississippi, unemployment claims have spiked from less than 1,000 a week to as high as about 46,000 in the weeks ending April 4, 2020 and April 11, 2020, a record for the state. The U.S. Department of Labor releases new unemployment claims data for the previous week every Thursday*. This chart will be updated weekly.
