How motivated were Democrats across the Tampa Bay region to vote in the general election (2020 to 2024)?

Between the 2020 and 2024 general elections, most counties in the region had a greater turnout of voters registered with the Democratic Party. Hardee and DeSoto counties saw dips in turnout.

Data notes: Voter registration records for the 2020 general election were taken from closed booking reports posted by the Florida Division of Elections. The same data for the 2024 general election is from the Fresh Take Florida election dashboard. This data visual shows registered voters and the percent of party turnout, but it does not show who registered party voters cast their ballots in support of. The data visual also leaves out voters without a party affiliation and "Other" voters.
