The horizontal axis displays the date and the vertical axis displays the percentage of Americans who said they felt the country was headed in the right direction. The direction of the country rating for any given day includes every poll conducted by a qualifying national organization in the previous 30 days. If a polling firm put out multiple polls in the previous 30 days, only the most recent was included in the average.
