Republicans in Congress send more emails than Democrats

From the beginning of 2010 to February 2024, Republicans in the House and Senate consistently sent more e-newsletters to their constituents than their Democratic counterparts did, except during two periods, which are shaded below. The first period was in the middle of 2010, when Democrats held more than half the seats in both houses. The second period was from March 2020 through January 2021, the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.
