The past two years of COVID-19 have killed more kids nationally than the total number of pediatric flu deaths recorded over the five years before the coronavirus emerged when society was fully open.
U.S. hospitals recorded 94 flu deaths in 2015, 95 in 2016, 129 in 2017, 181 in 2018, 169 in 2019, 155 in 2020, 3 in 2021 and 2 so far in 2022.
Meanwhile, COVID-19 has recorded 198 pediatric deaths in 2020, 539 in 2021 and 58 in 2022.
