It was followed by an outbreak in Kelowna on April 25 and an outbreak in the Central Kootenay on April 27. On May 3, two further outbreaks were confirmed in Richmond and Kelowna. On May 4, two outbreaks were declared in the Central Okanagan and North Okanagan. On May 10, an outbreak was declared in the Comox Valley, the first such outbreak on Vancouver Island. On May 19, two further outbreaks were declared in Abbotsford and Richmond. The outbreak in Abbotsford is particularly concerning, given 80 per cent of the province's poultry farms lie there. Another outbreak was confirmed in Abbotsford on May 20. On May 22, an outbreak was confirmed in a small flock in Okanagan-Similkameen. After a short reprieve in cases, an outbreak was confirmed in the Peace River in the province's north. Two outbreaks were confirmed in Sechelt and Summerland on June 4.
