Spotlight: Georgia School Districts with Greatest Growth in Math, 2025 to 2026

Top five school districts with the greatest improvement in overall math proficiency between 2025 and 2026 for students in grades 3-8 among non-charter public school districts.

STATE NOTE. Results reflect the Georgia Milestones End-of-Grade assessments administered to grades 3-8 for math; 2026 math results accessed 8/6/26. "Proficiency" here includes students achieving levels 3 or 4 on the assessment (Proficient and Distinguished). GaDOE administered a new ELA assessment in 2026; results are not available at the time of this publication.
DISTRICT INCLUSION. Districts included in this figure are public non-charter regular school districts, as defined by the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES). Results are included only if all individual grade levels (between grades 3-8) did not have suppressed results (thus preventing accurate aggregation) or if the State Education Agency provided an aggregated district total for grades 3-8; in other words, smaller districts may not be represented here if grade-level results are suppressed. Both years must have available district data for the district to be included here.
GROWTH. Growth is defined here as the percentage point change between district performance in spring 2025 compared to spring 2026. There may be small differences in the percentage-point growth value due to rounding.
