A map showing the status of states considering redistricting ahead of the 2026 elections as of September 2025. Ohio is the only state required by law to redraw their maps. Georgia, Louisiana and Utah have maps subject to change due to litigation. California, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Maryland, New York and New Jersey were considering voluntary redistricting. Texas voluntarily redistricted and signed their new maps into law on August 29, 2025.
