The amount of money owed by customers of the state's six investor-owned utilities has grown substantially over time, though the rate of growth has slowed.

Data combines electric and gas customers of the state's six investor-owned utilities. Data is from June of each year, except for Berkshire Gas, which reported data from 2019 to 2023 in December. Liberty Utilities' Blackstone service territory was excluded due to data gaps.
