Sixty-four UNC buildings still contain lead

Water fixtures in 16 buildings contain lead levels above the EPA action level of 15 ppb. Three out of those 16 buildings continue to have out-of-service fixtures due to remediation.

The EPA has stated that the target maximum contaminant level for drinking water should be zero. Lead is a toxic metal that can harm human health, even at low levels of exposure.
