Victim services providers per 100,000 U.S. residents

There are about 12,200 victim services providers (VSPs) operating in the United States, according to the federal Bureau of Justice Statistics' 2017 census. The states with the most VSPs per 100,000 residents are North Dakota and Wyoming, as well as the District of Columbia. The states with the fewest are New Jersey, Florida and California.

This data was collected through a survey conducted by the federal Bureau of Justice Statistics between October 2016 and July 2017. The survey's findings were published in 2019. The 2023 census is currently in progress.
