Widening profit margins

The hold rate — the percentage of total wagers left after payouts — has steadily increased since sports betting has been available in Colorado. In 2020, the hold rate was 6.4% on $1.2 billion wagered. In 2025, it was 9% on $6.5 billion wagered.
