Fertilizer costs are out of reach for many farmers

An April survey by the American Farm Bureau Federation found that farmers are struggling to afford fertilizer this year. In more than half of crops, a majority report they cannot afford all they need, with shares exceeding 80% among rice, cotton and peanut producers.
