NOTE: Daily data is from BCCDC's dashboard and does not always reflect the figures announced by health officials. KEY DATES: March 26: Island vaccinations surpass 100,000 doses. March 29: Circuit breaker restrictions announced. April 16: Provincial travel restrictions introduced. May 28: Island vaccinations surpass 500,000 doses. July 1: B.C. moves to Stage 3, masking requirement for indoor public spaces ends. July 19: Visitor restrictions eased at long-term care and seniors’ assisted living facilities. Aug. 25: B.C. reintroduces mask mandate for indoor public spaces. Sept. 13: Vaccine passport/card takes effect. Oct. 29: Indoor mask mandate extended indefinitely. Dec. 20: Movement restrictions at restaurants take effect. Dec. 22: Gyms, fitness centres, bars and nightclubs forced to close, food-primary establishments such as restaurants, cafes, and pubs limited to parties to six occupants per table.
