A third of farm counties had at least one ICE arrest in 2025, more than in previous years

For this analysis, the USDA defines a “farming” county as one that relies more on farm labor for its economy than other counties. Some well-known farming areas, such as California’s Central Valley, do not meet the USDA’s specific definition and so are not included. Yellow represents counties that the USDA defines as a “farming” county but have not had an ICE arrest.
