Table 6: Comparing EDWC by Fire Department

This table compares the monthly EDWC pay for all the local jurisdictions in our survey and CAL FIRE across all classifications. The survey average by classification are as follows for the local jurisdictions: Firefighter II: $843, Fire Apparatus Engineer: $943, Fire Captain (A): $1,030, and Battalion Chief: $581. EDWC pay for employees of CAL FIRE is much greater than the EDWC pay for the local jurisdictions. EDWC pay is as follows for the employees of CAL FIRE: Firefighter II: $2,707, Fire Apparatus Engineer: $2,968, Fire Captain (A): $3,372, and Fire Battalion Chief: $3,579.
